Event description

The Gaia String Quartet is Quartet Fest West’s Scholarship Ensemble. PROGRAM Gabriella Smith: Carrot Revolution Florence Price: Negro Folk Songs in Counterpoint Caroline Shaw: Blueprint Christine Hedden: Cuimhne Hsiu-Ping Patrick Wu: In Time Aspen Barker: Miami (working title) Quartet Fest West runs from June 23-July 4 on the beautiful University of Victoria campus and offers an in-depth study of great chamber music literature with members of the Lafayette String Quartet, the Penderecki String Quartet and violist Yariv Aloni. In addition to concerts, OPEN MASTERCLASSES will take place from 3:15-5:15PM in the Phillip T. Young Recital Hall at UVic on June 24, 25, 26, 30, July 1 and 2. Interested public are welcome to attend. Admission is by donation.
