NAKED MAN DANCING unfolds as a live, real-time strip show. Unlike other strippers, the character weaves stories into his performance. As he strips away the costumes of the hyper-masculine characters he creates, he reveals not only his body, but also his vulnerability and emotional scars. Something is keeping him from having fulfilling relationships and getting on with his career, and he’s struggling to understand. NAKED MAN DANCING explores what happens when we learn enough about a sex object to start thinking of him as a person.
While NAKED MAN DANCING is a full-length play, this reading includes just the first half of the text. The actor reading the script is Pedro M. Siqueira, recently featured in The Belfry’s production of If I Could Read Your Mind: The Songs of Gordon Lightfoot.
