Event description
Come join us for some (hopefully sunny) afternoon dips. *Look for the group with the green stripe towels!*
Dallas Road Swim Pavilion - Located at the end of San Jose Avenue, there are plenty of parking spaces. The stairs can be a little slippery and barnacled, so water shoes are a good idea, and at times when there are waves, it's sometimes easier to enter the water at the beach closer to the breakwater.
We recommend you wear your swimsuit and a warm layer down to the beach, bring a towel, and a warm beverage in a thermos for help in warming up after. It's a good idea to dry off and re-layer once you've gotten out of the water. Many people find that a quick walk or hops, warm drink, and the rush of warmth that follows a cold dip are enough to get them comfortable enough to head home in 5-10 minutes.
We usually head into the water around 2:10, in case you're running a little late!
New cold dippers can expect to spend between 30 seconds and a few minutes in the water, while some more practised cold water enthusiasts may spend 10-15 minutes. We swim in groups for community, but also for safety.
