Event description
Are you a young person (15 - 30 years old) who is worried about how the climate crisis might affect your future? Are you and/or your community already experiencing climate impacts?
The Multifaith Centre invites you to join an evening workshops series with climate justice advocate and artist Sabrina Guzman Skotnitsky, who is the founder of Creating Climate Resilience. This initiative engages people in artmaking and dialogue to express their thoughts and feelings about climate change, cultivate
emotional resilience, and build community.
These free workshops aim to help participants address their climate anxiety. Climate anxiety is broadly defined as feelings of worry, distress, despair and/or fear associated with climate change impacts. Each session will start with a free meal and be followed by dialogue circles and visual artmaking (all materials provided). This is a safe space to create 'bad art' to process your climate emotions in a supportive place. No prior artmaking experience or expertise about climate change is required. Please register by May 2nd, 2025 at the latest!
Workshop dates: Tuesdays 5:30 - 8pm May 6th, May 13th, May 20th, May 27th and June 3rd
Location: The Multifaith Centre at the University of Victoria
This is a recurring event for five consecutive Tuesdays.
